Dr. Catherine Rada
PT, DPT, MTC - Owner of Revive Physiotherapy
Catherine is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, a Certified Manual Therapist, and Owner of Revive Physiotherapy.
Catherine received her clinical doctorate from the University of Saint Augustine for Health Sciences where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in April of 2012. She later went on to earn her post-graduate Manual Therapy Certification from The University of Saint Augustine in October of 2014. Catherine received a BS in Psychology from the College of Charleston in her hometown of Charleston, South Carolina. Catherine uses her knowledge of psychology to aide in treating and understanding the physiological, and psychological aspects and effects of pain on the body. Catherine still visits Charleston frequently. She is a Carolina girl at heart.
Catherine has worked side by side with some top-notch clinicians in the area who helped develop her skills and find her path as a clinician. After feeling confined and frustrated with insurance companies and private practice owners dictating and limiting her ability to empower people by teaching them how to manage their musculoskeletal pain/conditions, she decided to take matters into her own hands. She followed her vision of utilizing a unique approach to physical/movement based therapy and, boom just like that, Revive Physiotherapy was born!
Catherine has always been very physically active since childhood. She enjoys running, strength training, high intensity interval training similar to CrossFit, cycling, yoga, pilates, and meditation. She enjoys finding ways to help the body function at it's optimal potential through exercise, functional range mobility training, nutrition, progressive relaxation, yoga and meditation. She loves to cook and studies the impact of food on the body when she has time.
Catherine enjoys treating a variety of musculoskeletal conditions. She has worked with various types of injuries in runners, cyclists, Crossfit athletes, weekend warriors, dancers, yogis, surfers, swimmers, triathletes, and tennis players. She also works frequently with post-operative patients, post-partum related musculoskeletal pain, and general chronic pain conditions.
Catherine also recently completed her certification as a Certified FRC Mobility Specialist. FRC is a newer style of mobility training developed by Dr. Andreo Spina. It is a scientific research based approach to treat and train the body by combining flexibility and strength to increase available active functional range of motion. This type of training is different and far more superior than other popular passive or uncontrolled mobility training/treatment styles because it is focused on increasing the amount of useable motion available at each joint.
